Hawaii State Test Accommodation Guide for Scribe 2023-2024

The Scribe (SC) state test accommodation allows students who are unable to type independently to have a human scribe to transfer their spoken words into print. The Scribe accommodation is available for the long-write essays on the English Language Arts (ELA) state tests. Due to potential human error by a scribe, the alternative accommodation, Speech-to-Text, is preferred.
Note: This accommodation is also available at the Designated Support level for all other portions of the state tests.
