Recent Announcements

  • Results for the 2018-2019 administration of the Smarter Balanced Summative ELA and Math tests, including Grade 11 Summative tests administered at block schedule schools in fall 2018, will be available in the Online Reporting System beginning on March 11, 2019.

  • The Smarter Balanced and HSA Science Parent Information Booklets (PIBs) are currently available in English and 14 translated languages and can be found in the General Information folder on the Resources page. Printed PIBs will be shipped and delivered to each school the week of January 14th. Each student's home language in Infinite Campus has been used to determine whether a student will receive either an English PIB or a translated PIB in the home language indicated by their family. Please make sure the students receive either the English or translated PIB that they need. If your school does not receive their shipment of PIBs by Wednesday, January 23rd, please contact the Help Desk.

  • The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (Smarter Balanced) is recruiting qualified educators to support assessment activities in 2019-20. The document available here outlines important information for educator recruitment. Smarter Balanced is recruiting for five educator activities: 1) Item Authoring for ELA and Mathematics; 2) Passage Review for Content, Fairness, and Accessibility; 3) Item Review for Content, Fairness, and Accessibility; 4) Rangefinding; and 5) Data Review (virtual).

    Interested Hawaii educators should review the recruitment package here, including the application questions on the last page of the document, and complete the online recruitment form available here by February 8, 2019.

  • Important information about the Required Statewide Assessments Participation Criteria and Accessibility Features for School Year 2018-19 is now available in the Hawaii DOE memo posted in the Resources > Hawaii DOE Memos section. The memo includes a list of the required assessments for SY 2018-2019; criteria for students who must participate in the required assessments; and information about embedded and non-embedded accessibility features for all assessments.

Please click the button on the right-hand side of the Smarter Balanced home page to access the online registration form, or click here to access the form directly.
