  • The 2017-2018 testing window for the Grades 3-8 and 11 Smarter Balanced ELA/Literacy and Mathematics Online Summative Assessments will open on Tuesday, February 20th. Test coordinators should verify that the secure browser on all student test devices has been updated to the current version prior to testing.

  • Apple’s recent update to their iOS, 11.2.5, contains important security updates. AIR recommends that iOS 11.2.5 be used as the minimum version of iOS 11 for student testing. Please note, devices running other supported versions of iOS (9.3 or 10.3) are not affected by these security risks and are not required to be updated to iOS 11.2.5.

  • The updated version of the Secure Browser is now available for Mac OS 10.13 and can be downloaded via the Secure Browsers page. The updated browser must be installed on each computer that has Mac OS 10.13 and will be used for online testing during the 2017-2018 school year, and should be used for all assessments in the Hawai'i State Assessment Program: the Smarter Balanced Interim and Summative Assessments, HSA Science Assessments, HSA Alternate Assessments, and End-of-Course Exams. Any previous versions of the Secure Browser will automatically be deleted once the new browser is installed. Information on how to install the Secure Browser can be found in the 2017-2018 Secure Browsers Installation Manual.

  • Results for the 2017-2018 administration of the Smarter Balanced Summative ELA and Math tests, including Grade 11 Summative tests administered at block schedule schools in fall 2017, will be available in the Online Reporting System beginning on March 12,2018.

  • Accommodations for the Spring 2017-18 Smarter Balanced assessments are due to be input in TIDE no later than January 20, 2018.  Accommodation Verification forms should be submitted to the Assessment Section by January 12, 2018 for verification.  Any accommodations that have been designated via IEP or Section 504 Plan meetings after January 19th  should still be input into TIDE, or submitted for verification to the Assessment Section.
