Smarter Balanced has determined that a Grade 8 mathematics item on the Spring 2018 summative assessment was improperly calibrated and the score given to some students may have been too low. Students who received the item have had their tests rescored and 135 Grade 8 students’ mathematics proficiency status were affected. These students will have their Family Reports reprinted and sent to schools where the affected students were tested to be distributed in a manner consistent with previous reports.
